What is Satire?

There are various means of social reforms or message conveyance to the society about the prevalent vices and the good and bad practices.

Motivational speeches, pieces of advice in the sermons or direct criticism are the few recent modes that serve the same purpose of reforming the community.

Satire, basically is an indirect and mild message in sugar coated filling to pin point the areas which need mending a little for the better society. Many authors use the very medium to compose literary works which are uniquely tailored and designed to communicate the observation with little exaggeration about the surroundings that influence many lives.



How to write?

Irony and satire are two separate terms which likely get confused with each other. Irony is a bit harsh criticism while satire is the milder and humorous way of dealing and discussing the issues related.

Satire writing requires a skillful handling and the selection of words and phrases.

The whole purpose is dependent upon the diction and style in which the author lays emphasis on the focused area keeping the readers or the audiences entertained and amused at the same time. The desired images should be created by the wise selection of the words and phrases or the figures of speech for effective impact.

3.         I n the print Media the cartoonists use satire to comment on the different political or topics of public concerns.



How can we use satire proficiently? 

1.          Satire is an effective mode of creating awareness among masses about the different issues without criticizing harshly and unpleasantly.

2.          Satire focuses on the topic in a light hearted comical and humorous way which leaves pleasant imprints that makes it easy for everyone to understand and digest.

3.           Topic selection and the relevant information and indirect way of suggesting make satire a device proficient enough to benefit the society.
